Walking is a year round activity. Bushwalkers of Western Australia Inc (BOWA) based in Perth has a complete annual programme. In Winter (May to October) longer walks of up to 20km in length are undertaken. These require a full day and most of the information about walking presented here applies to these walks. From time to time the Winter programme will include, for variety, a shorter half day walk. In Summer members maintain fitness by shorter walks around the Perth environs which are completed before midday. On almost every Sunday of the year it is possible to sample the experience of walking with our club. How do I get started?
The annual BOWA AGM is to be held at Scarborough Tennis Club, 101 Deanmore Road, Scarborough.
This is always a very popular event as it provides the opportunity to review the Club’s previous 12 months, elect our new Committee for the coming year, and for all members to have a voice in guiding BOWA’s programme and approach for thecoming year.
The meeting also happens to be an enjoyable social occasion. In that regard, pizza will be provided for post-AGM nourishment. BYO salad, dessert and drinks (including
tea and coffee). We do have access to a kitchen, hot water, plates, cutlery and cups at our venue.
The Club will of course seek to minimise Covid 19 risks at the event by complying with government health recommendations, including social distancing, hand washing
and avoiding the sharing of food and utensils.
Please RSVP for the AGM by 2 March. For catering and venue purposes, please let the Secretary know be email to by Tuesday 2 March if you will be attending. Please also contact the Secretary if you are unable to come along and wish to be recorded as an Apology.
