A moonlit walk of approximately 8 km in and around Manning Park, near the coast, just south of Fremantle. The trail includes a great mix of wide stony tracks, narrower paths and reasonable inclines rewarded with city and ocean views. A huge stone stairway leads down to Manning Park lake with picnic tables and toilets, and a paved path around the lake.
The pleasure of a summer walk by moonlight is to rely on the moon to light the way. However, do bring a torch or be prepared to use your phone light just in case.
Dress for a bushwalk, bring water, a snack or your evening meal.
This walk is rated Medium/Hard because of the inclines and declines and the need to negotiate rocky paths at night.
Park on the verge opposite houses on Southend Road, near the junction of Quarry Road.
