Jarrahdale Jaunt

This 23 km walk is a response to members' requests for a longer, reasonably paced and moderately challenging walk.  A good level of fitness is assumed.  The walk will take us from Jarrahdale township along Gooralong Brook and the attractive Kitty's Gorge to the Serpentine River and on to Serpentine Falls. We will then do a south-east loop to join the munda biddi trail and Scarp Road and return to Jarrahdale. The walk is mostly on track.  However, care should be taken on the rocky trail along Kitty's Gorge, especially in wet weather, and there are a number of steep climbs and descents, including on gravel. One ascent in particular is up a narrow and deeply eroded gravel track. Walking poles are recommended on that section.  Please note the early 8.15 am departure time from Armadale. We will be driving the 25 km (about 25 minutes) to the carpark on the south-west corner of Jarrahdale Road and Munro Street, at the easatern end of Jarrahdale. There is a toilet there.  The intention is that the walk will leave from the Jarrahdale meeting spot at 9.00 am.  Walk participants are free to join us at the Munro Street carpark in Jarrahdale rather than at Armadale, but please message John Y.
