Summer
Walking is a year round activity. Bushwalkers of Western Australia Inc (BOWA) based in Perth has a complete annual programme. In Winter (May to October) longer walks of up to 20km in length are undertaken. These require a full day and most of the information about walking presented here applies to these walks. From time to time the Winter programme will include, for variety, a shorter half day walk. In Summer members maintain fitness by shorter walks around the Perth environs which are completed before midday. On almost every Sunday of the year it is possible to sample the experience of walking with our club. How do I get started?

Description
NOTE ROAD CLOSURE AFFECTING THIS EVENT - Due to the Tri Pink Perth event, centred around the WA Athletics Stadium, Stephenson Ave (north of the Stadium), Perry Lakes Drive and Underwood Ave (west of Brockway Rd/ Brookfield St) will be closed from 6am to 10am. This will affect car access to the Scout Hall meeting spot from Perry Lakes Drive.
Please meet at the Cambridge Scout and Guide Hall as previously specified, but the suggested parking spot is along the western end of Alderbury St or surrounding streets. It's then a short walk across Alderbury Reserve to the Hall.
A 12 km walk through Bold Park and paths in City Beach to a choice of multiple oceanside cafes. After a coffee for anyone so minded we return to Perry Lakes along a different route through Bold Park with beautiful views of both the ocean and Perth city. There are a number of steep hills in Bold Park and a few sections of sand path.
