Bushwalkers of Western Australia

Winter

Summer

Walking is a year round activity. Bushwalkers of Western Australia Inc (BOWA) based in Perth has a complete annual programme. In Winter (May to October) longer walks of up to 20km in length are undertaken. These require a full day and most of the information about walking presented here applies to these walks. From time to time the Winter programme will include, for variety, a shorter half day walk.  In Summer members maintain fitness by shorter walks around the Perth environs which are completed before midday. On almost every Sunday of the year it is possible to sample the experience of walking with our club. How do I get started?

The Bold Night

Event

Title:
The Bold Night
When:
Sat, 27. February 2021, 18:15 h - 21:15 h
Where:
Scout Hall Car Park, Perry Lakes - Floreat, WA
Category:
Medium Walk

Description

A walk with a difference - an evening 10.5 km walk, on hilly tracks, through Bold Park. We will enjoy the sunset over the ocean from the Reabold Hill lookout and visit various vantage points in the twilight and gathering darkness, finishing a little after 9pm. There are great views of the lights of the city and suburbs, but also the opportunity to experience the quiet of the bush at night. Please bring a torch and perhaps some warm clothing should the evening happen to turn cool.  We will have a refreshment stop during the walk.
John and Trudy are having a picnic tea from 5.15pm in Perry Lakes just south of the Scout Hall (where BOWA's Christmas party was held last year) and hope that you will join us for eats, drinks and a chat before the walk.
Our aim is to leave on the walk at 6.15pm sharp so as to fully appreciate the sunset.
