Bushwalkers of Western Australia

Winter

Summer

Walking is a year round activity. Bushwalkers of Western Australia Inc (BOWA) based in Perth has a complete annual programme. In Winter (May to October) longer walks of up to 20km in length are undertaken. These require a full day and most of the information about walking presented here applies to these walks. From time to time the Winter programme will include, for variety, a shorter half day walk.  In Summer members maintain fitness by shorter walks around the Perth environs which are completed before midday. On almost every Sunday of the year it is possible to sample the experience of walking with our club. How do I get started?

When:
Tue, 20. July 2021, 09:00 h - 13:00 h
Where:
Keanes Point Reserve - Peppermint Grove, Western Australia

Description

This is a repeat of the walk in June for those who were unable to attend for one reason or another.

Easy 12km walk along the river from Keanes Point Reserve in Peppermint Grove to North Fremantle. Brief stops at Minim Cove & the old Rule St soap factory. We will stop at Gilbert Frazer Reserve for morning tea, getting a chance to sit in the federation style grandstand. Please bring your own snacks, coffee/tea as no cafes nearby.

We will take a more direct shorter route back to our start, taking the chance to admire the mansions in Mosman Park. There will be a special photo opportunity at Mount Lyell Park Lookout. Beautiful views across the river to East Fremantle & Bicton as well as up & down the Swan River. A hidden gem.

The walk will finish at approximately 1pm. A table will be booked at Freshwaters Cafe near Lilla St for 1pm. Please RSVP to Fernando on 0404896655 if you wish to be included in the table booking for lunch or just coffee as we need correct numbers. You can google their menu. We attended the cafe in June(group of 15) & most were satisfied with the food, service & prices.

Please note start time of 9am. Please be there by 8.45am.
