Walking is a year round activity. Bushwalkers of Western Australia Inc (BOWA) based in Perth has a complete annual programme. In Winter (May to October) longer walks of up to 20km in length are undertaken. These require a full day and most of the information about walking presented here applies to these walks. From time to time the Winter programme will include, for variety, a shorter half day walk.  In Summer members maintain fitness by shorter walks around the Perth environs which are completed before midday. On almost every Sunday of the year it is possible to sample the experience of walking with our club. How do I get started?

Description

NOTE 08.30 departure. Join Hike West's annual Premier event promoting bushwalking and life in the outdoors at the Perth Hills Environment Centre. There'll be 6 different walks repeated a number of times starting between 9AM and 12.15PM plus displays and other events at the venue. PLEASE NOTE: Each walk requires you to pay a $5 participation fee which can be paid by the online registration (use link below) or payment on the day. Some walks are already booked out so you are encouraged to pre-register. BOWA's walk to Ball Creek campsite (5.5Kms return) will be led by Dave Caughey and assisted by Gordon and Bill and departs at 0930 but you may choose a longer walk which starts before this one returnns at 11.30 app. Use the link to view and book any other walks.

A 15 km Medium/Hard walk mostly on track with good views across Helena Valley and C Y O'Connor dam. Sections of the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail are used and good lookouts provide many pleasant stopping places. An easy 11 km walk from Mullaloo to Hillary’s Marina and return. We meet at the Tom Simpson car park and walk south along the coastal path.
