Walking is a year round activity. Bushwalkers of Western Australia Inc (BOWA) based in Perth has a complete annual programme. In Winter (May to October) longer walks of up to 20km in length are undertaken. These require a full day and most of the information about walking presented here applies to these walks. From time to time the Winter programme will include, for variety, a shorter half day walk. In Summer members maintain fitness by shorter walks around the Perth environs which are completed before midday. On almost every Sunday of the year it is possible to sample the experience of walking with our club. How do I get started?
An easy morning river walk of about 8 km around Resolution Point and along the Dalkeith foreshore. Please note the 8:30 AM start. Wear good shoes for some rocky sections. If you have reef shoes it would be a good idea to bring them in case the tide is higher than expected. The exact route will depend on water levels on the day. There are no coffee shops on the route but there will be an opportunity to get coffee after the walk.
Members and Visitors who are proposing to attend this walk are reminded that in accordance with the Club’s COVID-19 vaccination policy they may only participate if they have proof that they have been double vaccinated.
Small car park for Bishop Road Reserve just off Victoria Avenue, Dalkeith.
If the car park is full, street parking may be available in Leon Road or Waratah Avenue.
