Walking is a year round activity. Bushwalkers of Western Australia Inc (BOWA) based in Perth has a complete annual programme. In Winter (May to October) longer walks of up to 20km in length are undertaken. These require a full day and most of the information about walking presented here applies to these walks. From time to time the Winter programme will include, for variety, a shorter half day walk.  In Summer members maintain fitness by shorter walks around the Perth environs which are completed before midday. On almost every Sunday of the year it is possible to sample the experience of walking with our club. How do I get started?

Description

Meeting near Optus Stadium, walking to East Perth / Mt Lawley/ Maylands beside the river then back to the City View Cafe at the Stadium for brunch. It is an easy 8K walk. We may have a short morning tea stop along the way to cater for those not going to the cafe. Please RSVP to Fernando's number by 19/2 to book a place at the cafe 0404896655. Midgegooroo National Park

A Medium grade day walk 12 to 14 km in the Midgegooroo National Park. Mainly on track and maybe some off track. During September the wattle and wildflowers are likely to be prolific. We will drive approximately 15 km from the meeting point at Kemscott to the start of the walk. Read more...
