Walking is a year round activity. Bushwalkers of Western Australia Inc (BOWA) based in Perth has a complete annual programme. In Winter (May to October) longer walks of up to 20km in length are undertaken. These require a full day and most of the information about walking presented here applies to these walks. From time to time the Winter programme will include, for variety, a shorter half day walk. In Summer members maintain fitness by shorter walks around the Perth environs which are completed before midday. On almost every Sunday of the year it is possible to sample the experience of walking with our club. How do I get started?
BOWA has been monitoring and maintaining the Mount Dale shelter, campsite and about 10 km of track for many years now. We do this to make a small contribution towards WA's world class walking track.
Join us for this once a year club event and help us with this task while enjoying a good bushwalk. Please bring morning tea and lunch.
Please Note: For this event, participants must register with the walk leader in advance to arrange registration of participants as Bibbulmun Track volunteers.
We also need to arrange car pooling from Kelmscott to Mount Dale. We intend to take only 4WD and AWD vehicles to Mount Dale due to the quality of the road.
Please read the Bibbulmun Track Maintenance Guide document in the Members section of the BOWA website, and register with the walk leader well in advance if you are considering attending this event. The Health and Safety Induction and Code of Conduct referred to in the Track Maintenance Guide are also found under Members > Bibbulmun Track. These documents are easy to read and contain important information for this event.
