Walking is a year round activity. Bushwalkers of Western Australia Inc (BOWA) based in Perth has a complete annual programme. In Winter (May to October) longer walks of up to 20km in length are undertaken. These require a full day and most of the information about walking presented here applies to these walks. From time to time the Winter programme will include, for variety, a shorter half day walk.  In Summer members maintain fitness by shorter walks around the Perth environs which are completed before midday. On almost every Sunday of the year it is possible to sample the experience of walking with our club. How do I get started?

Description

A full day on-track walk from Sullivan's Rock to Mt Cooke, the highest peak in the Darling Scarp at 582 metres. We will return to Sullivan rock car park along the same route. Total walking distance is approximately 20 km and accumulated elevation gain about 450 m.

Note the early meeting time at 8.30 am at the Olde Narrogin Inne. We will car pool from there to the Sullivan Rock car park off the Albany Highway at Millar's Log Road. Bring morning tea and lunch.

Car park of Ye Olde Narrogin Inne, Armadale. On the corner of Albany Highway and South West Highway.

Accessible from Albany Highway to the east of the junction or Southwest Highway just south of the junction.
